The Mooi River and Kamberg Farmers today (August 28th) lodged their dispute with the Mpofana Municipality in Mooi River, KZN.  This group represents approximately 70% of the rates income budgetted for in this financial year, with the balance coming from urban residential and business properties.  They are a different constituency to the Mooi River Ratepayers Association, which represents residential and business ratepayers.  The Mooi River and Kamberg Farmers association would be interested to hear from other farmer groups who are grappling with the the problem of what it essentially a land tax.  They receive nothing in the way of municipal services to their properties, all of which are outside urban areas.  Interested parties will find the contact details for the Mooi River and Kamberg Farmers Association on the Membership list of this website.
